How this is calculated
- Smooth compounding counts actual calendar days over a 365-day year. Simple mode charges rate ÷ n for each full period and pro-rates part of a period by the actual days in that period.
- Interest runs on the whole unpaid balance, including interest not yet paid.
- Each repayment clears interest first. Interest that has already compounded goes first, then interest accrued in the current period, then principal.
- A repayment larger than the amount owed brings the balance to zero. The excess is shown separately and not applied.
- Figures are rounded for display only. Columns can differ from their total by ₹0.01.
